Insights from multi-country survey conducted by TGM Research about the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
In the morning of 24.02.2022, Russian troops entered the territory of Ukraine, declaring war. This situation pushed Ukranians to escape neighboring countries. The day after the conflict began, TGM Research made a comprehensive survey with 10,204 participants about how the World is reacting to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict including USA, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, United Kingdom.
UNITED FACING THE UKRAINIAN CONFLICT
The war declared by Russia against Ukraine, began on February 24th, agitated the whole world. The rocket fire, and the attack of land and air forces, throughout the territory of Ukraine is an act of terror that the army and the people of Ukraine are currently managing to repel. Civilians from 8 different countries stated that they feel sad, horrible and terrible about the conflict in Ukraine. Nearly 80% of people think that the conflict threatens European security.
Despite the great shock within the first hours of the war, the citizens of European countries have mostly rapidly organized help for refugees. People have organized fundraisers, prepared apartments, and have collected food and clothes for those fleeing the conflict area. The survey found out that more than half of the participants are willing to take Ukrainian refugees to their country and support Ukraine. The nations of Europe, show extraordinary solidarity, being close to each other through common history and geography.
ABOUT THE TGM STUDY ON THE PERCEPTION OF THE SITUATION IN UKRAINE
TGM Research has conducted a study, which aimed to capture the atmosphere and emotions that accompany the inhabitants of all Europe in the face of war. We wanted to find out what society thinks, depending on age and different social groups. We asked them about their attitude to the conflict and their opinion on the subject, to show at the same time that there is no social consent, in any country, for Russia to attack a free and independent Ukraine.
The survey was carried out on February 25-26, 2022 using the method of online interviews in 7 European countries and the United States on a representative sample of 18+.
The sample is representative of the adult population of the given country in terms of gender, age and place of residence.
