Meet Tam Nguyen:
Our Insight Delivery Executive
I graduated from Foreign Trade University with a major in International Business, and I've had the privilege of being around incredibly proactive and high-achieving peers. This environment has equipped me with adaptable skills and a strong eagerness to learn.
Outside of work, I have a passion for sports, especially boxing and yoga. These activities help me start my day on a high note, and you'll often find me breaking a sweat in the early mornings.
As for my journey with TGM, I've been part of the team since March 2024, working as a Fieldwork Delivery Executive in the Fieldwork department.
Reflecting on Your Journey
Looking back, there have been several pivotal moments that significantly contributed to my development. One of the most important lessons I learned at TGM is the value of taking risks and viewing mistakes as opportunities for growth. This mindset allowed me to experiment with new ideas and approaches, which eventually led to more innovative solutions.
Another major learning was the comfort in seeking help. TGM's collaborative culture encouraged me to ask for assistance whenever needed, which not only sped up my learning process but also helped me build stronger relationships with my colleagues.
In terms of experiences, developing problem-solving skills was a game-changer. TGM provided a dynamic environment where I could tackle various challenges head-on, which was instrumental in honing my ability to address complex issues efficiently. Additionally, having a supportive manager who offered guidance while allowing me the space to learn from my experiences was crucial for my growth. Their mentorship was invaluable in helping me navigate difficult situations and develop my leadership skills as I took on increasing levels of responsibility.
Support and Mentorship:
I was very fortunate to have a strong support system at TGM. My colleagues were incredibly supportive, always willing to answer my calls, even for minor points in projects. This made a significant difference in my learning curve. My teammates were always ready to step in and help whenever needed, creating a collaborative and encouraging work environment. This support system was crucial in building my confidence and competence.
When it comes to supervisors, I greatly appreciated the way my manager provided instruction and then allowed me the space to apply my knowledge and learn from my experiences. This approach empowered me and helped me develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Their mentorship style of providing guidance while encouraging independence was instrumental in my professional growth. It allowed me to make mistakes and learn valuable lessons from them, which has been essential for my continuous improvement.
Their guidance also played a significant role in my career progression. From the early days, when I had limited knowledge about Fieldwork, their support gave me the confidence to take on and execute projects independently. The early exposure to project management and execution was pivotal in my career development. Furthermore, the mentorship I received taught me that making mistakes is an integral part of the learning process, and each mistake became a learning opportunity, helping me refine my skills and approach.
Work Culture and Environment
The work culture at TGM is defined by its openness and supportiveness. Colleagues are very approachable, and there's a strong emphasis on collaboration. This environment made it easy for me to reach out and discuss how to work best with others, fostering a sense of teamwork and collective problem-solving. The open culture encouraged knowledge sharing, allowing me to seek advice and insights from more experienced team members, which accelerated my professional growth and helped me develop a comprehensive understanding of the industry.
There were a few specific moments that made me feel particularly supported and valued. One that stands out is when my manager gave me the autonomy to manage a project independently. This not only showed their trust in my abilities but also gave me the confidence to take ownership and responsibility.
Another initiative that made me feel valued was the company’s regular feedback sessions. These sessions weren’t just about performance reviews; they were also focused on personal development. The constructive feedback I received helped me identify areas for improvement and guided my career progression.
Additionally, the readiness of my colleagues to step in and assist during challenging times made me feel truly supported. Whether it was answering random calls about minor project details or offering to help with tasks, their willingness to support each other created a strong sense of community and belonging.
