Meet Junrie - Our Senior Survey Programmer

Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your role at TGM?

My name is Junrie Lamoste, and I’m from the Philippines. I’ve been working as a Senior Survey Programmer at TGM for almost two years, and I bring over 10 years of experience in survey programming. My role involves transforming questionnaires into online formats that people can easily complete on a website or app. Essentially, it's about taking a traditional paper survey and designing a digital version that is user-friendly and accessible to respondents.

What does a typical day in your life look like?

A typical day in my role begins with reviewing the projects I’m working on, ensuring everything is on track. I spend a good portion of the day converting questionnaires into functional and user-friendly online surveys, focusing on details like question logic, layout, and design. I collaborate closely with the project managers and clients to ensure their needs are met, while troubleshooting any technical issues that arise. Additionally, I monitor ongoing surveys, making adjustments as needed to ensure data quality and a smooth user experience. My day is a balance of technical problem-solving, creativity, and communication with the team to deliver high-quality surveys on time.

What’s the most exciting project you’ve worked on in scripting, and why?

What’s the most exciting project you’ve worked on in scripting, and why?

The most exciting project I’ve worked on was 'FS#23061910 EUI Fairness in Asylum Decisions Multi,' which included a complex conjoint analysis. Although Alchemer, the platform we use, has a built-in conjoint feature, the client's specific custom requests meant we couldn’t use it. I had to manually create the conjoint according to detailed specifications, which involved balancing all possible combinations, randomizing the order of attributes, and inserting custom questions between each iteration. It was challenging, especially with the client rigorously testing the setup. However, everything worked out smoothly, and as a result, we secured another project from them.
