71% of Filipino respondents will celebrate Valentine’s Day this year and 88% plan to purchase gifts for their significant other

If there's one big part of Filipino culture that cannot be ignored, it's their love for celebrating holidays and all types of special occasions! Whether it’s something as big as Christmas Day or as local as Independence Day, Filipinos will never let you down.

Valentine’s Day in Philippines is no exception.

As early as the first day of February – shopping malls, stores, and different local establishments start decking out with V-Day themed decorations. On this special occasion, millions of people around the country will also take the time to express their love and gratitude towards their loved ones. According to TGM Valentine’s Day Insights 2023, 71% of survey respondents in the Philippines will celebrate Valentine’s Day this year and 88% plan to purchase gifts for their significant other.

However, to many Filipinos, happiness comes from not only giving gifts but also being present, spending time together and appreciating the people that matter in their lives. For this reason, Valentine’s Day in the Philippines is considered a valuable time for bonding and in general a special day for all.
