As Vietnam prepares for a new chapter of environmental accountability, the PRO Vietnam Member Communication & Connection 2026 Workshop provided a crucial platform for industry leaders to synchronize their efforts. The gathering featured key players from the FMCG, packaging, and retail industries, all focused on the upcoming EPR requirements. TGM Research was proud to enrich these technical discussions by introducing a 'human-centric' viewpoint, ensuring that consumer reality stays at the heart of sustainability strategies.

Bridging the Gap: Consumer Sentiment vs. Operational Reality

The success of any sustainability initiative hinges on consumer behavior. Tatiana highlighted that while awareness is at an all-time high, there is a distinct gap between "intention" and "action." Our Waste Segregation at Source in Vietnam 2025 identified three pivotal signals that businesses must address:

  • Younger generations are the most vocal advocates for sustainability, with 65% of 15-24 age groups interested in environmental issues. However, their lifestyle is fast paced. Our data suggests that sorting must feel simple and visible to become routine.
  • The quality paradox in recycled packaging: Sustainability should not mean a compromise on quality. Across all demographics, consumers expressed concern about the safety and durability of recycled materials. For brands, the challenge is not just to use recycled content, but to communicate its safety and premium nature effectively to maintain brand equity.
  • The biggest barrier: Many Vietnamese consumers believe that segregated waste is simply remixed after collection, reinforcing the idea that transparency is essential to building long-term public trust.

TGM Research & PRO Vietnam: A Shared Vision for 2026

The event also detailed PRO Vietnam’s 2026 Roadmap, focusing on strengthening the recycling ecosystem and ensuring high standards of accountability. TGM Research is proud to be the data partner that helps brands bridge the gap between these corporate goals and the actual mindset of the Vietnamese public.

We believe that data is the compass for sustainability. By understanding the "why" behind consumer hesitation, we can help our partners design better communication strategies and more effective collection systems.

A sincere thank you to PRO Vietnam for organizing this vital connection and to all the participants for their commitment to a cleaner Vietnam. Together, we are not just talking about changes, we are mapping the way there.
