PET CARE INSIGHTS 2026 IN THAILAND
SINGAPORE, December 22nd, 2025 – TGM Research announces the launch of Pet Care Insights 2026, a comprehensive study on the thriving pet-care ecosystem in Thailand. The findings reveal a rising culture of wellness-first pet parenting, where connection, health and daily care play a central role.
“Thai pet owners are becoming more intentional and informed. They are investing in supplements, routine checkups, and convenient home-care solutions at a much higher rate than before”
Key Highlights From The Thailand Pet Care Report
Pets are family:
- Emotional attachment to pets is strong in Thailand, with 39% of Thais treating pets as family.
- 31% of pet owners go further, viewing their pets as babies or children.
- Companionship and reduced feelings of loneliness are one of the greatest benefits of pet ownership in Thailand.
Home-based care is gaining momentum:

- 51% of pet owners spent on accessories like collars/leashes/harnesses over the past 12 months.
- Homemade meals rank #1 as the most commonly used alternative diet among Thai pet owners.
Supplements become part of daily routines:
- 53% of Thai pet owners purchased healthcare products and supplements for at-home use.
Consistent veterinary habits:
- 38% of Thai pet owners maintain a regular schedule of visiting vet clinics every 3 - 6 months. This habit is fairly consistent across the 18–44 age demographic.
Convenient and smart care devices are shaping how Thai owners manage pet health in the future:
- 44% of Thais are expecting health monitoring devices to become more widely adopted as pet care continues to modernize.
- 34% cite smart feeders/water fountains as one of the most popular choices in the next 5 years.
Shift toward preventive health spending: $11–$20 is the typical budget for Thais, moving towards pet care services (grooming, training...), signaling strong opportunities for wellness brands.
Why This Matters for Brands
The findings from Pet Care Insights Thailand 2026 reveal clear business opportunities for brands operating in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic pet markets:
- Creating strong potential for brands to expand into higher-margin categories.
- The rapid adoption of at-home care behaviors also signals new openings for DTC models, subscription services, and e-commerce innovation.
- The habit of maintaining regular vet visits creates space for partnerships between brands, clinics, and digital platforms to build end-to-end pet wellness journeys.
- Brands can find strong growth opportunities among new consumers — especially Gen Z and Millennials — as they are the most open to new products, technologies, and innovative care solutions.
