MARKET CASE STUDY: global

Injury care: Examining attitudes, behaviors, and influences on treatment

Exploring Behaviors and Attitudes towards Blunt Trauma Treatment Across 6 Countries

Project background:

Blunt trauma injuries occur from non-penetrating impacts such as falls, car accidents, or sports-related incidents, and can range from minor bruises and scrapes to more severe injuries like broken bones or head injuries. As medicine continues to evolve, resulting in a wide range of treatment options, individuals' attitudes, behaviors, and opinions towards blunt trauma injuries may vary based on factors such as age, gender, location, or income.

An international Client has partnered with TGM Research to conduct multi country survey project on behavior and attitudes related to the treatment of blunt traumas, i.e. the choice of treatments, the role of the doctor and pharmacists, channels of information, and the brands' images of medical products helpful in treating injuries.

Challenges:

The multinational project required strong project management skills to effectively control the fieldwork and data processing. The survey covered six countries on three different continents, which presented specific challenges in obtaining the necessary number of respondents due to the low incidence of blunt trauma injuries in certain populations. To overcome this, a variety of methods were employed to reach a large sample size.

Methodology:

  • Markets studied: Brazil, UAE, Thailand, KSA, Italy and Turkey
  • Sample: N= 4200 (700 per country)
  • Targeted Audience: People (or mothers of children 7-18 y.o.) who currently live within one household) had experienced an injury – blunt trauma accompanied by swelling, bruises, pain in the past 2 years
  • Age: 18+
  • Methodology: U&A, brand awareness and loyalty
  • Services provided: Localization (translation to local languages), Data collection, Data cleaning & processing

Outcome:

The study was successful, and its results contributed to the understanding of the causes, progression, and treatment of specific blunt trauma injuries. By collecting data from six countries on three different continents, the survey allowed for the comparison of geographical influences on behaviors and attitudes related to treating blunt trauma injuries. The U&A-based methodology was used to identify the behavior of past patients. Furthermore, the study aimed to recognize awareness, loyalty, and satisfaction with brands of medicines used to treat blunt trauma injuries. These findings can aid in the development of better treatment options and improve patient outcomes.
