The use of online research surveys to evaluate UAE investors' financial choices

How were online research surveys utilized to analyze UAE investors' behaviour, choices, and profile of different financial products?

Project background:

In a world of globalization and digitalization, the financial market is changing at a dizzying pace. Just in the last decade, alternative forms of digital investment, such as cryptocurrencies or NFTs, have become so widespread that they are considered major financial investments in the future. The United Arab Emirates is considered a prosperous leader in the Arab world in foreign direct investments (FDI), with a 4% growth rate ($20,7 billion) in 2021. Considering the county’s increasing potential, TGM Research has executed a study to understand UAE investors’ behaviour, choices, and profile of different financial products.

Challenge:

With the country having 99 percent internet penetration and a variety of sourcing methods, it is theoretically easy to conduct surveys in UAE. However, such targetting required the deployment of specific targetting options to achieve a profile sample for this specific research project.

With the experience of conducting large survey projects in MENA, such as the Ramadan Survey, TGM Research was able to collect data from the target profile audience. 

Methodology:

  • Sample: N=250
  • Target audience: UAE inhabitants who have invested (stocks/shares, currencies/cryptocurrencies, any other financial instrument)
  • Age: 18+

Outcome:

Through UX/CX tests, we were able to establish awareness, credibility, ease of understanding of the client’s platform, and understand general views on the cryptocurrency market.
